Friday 6th December weekly update

6th December 2024

Head's message

Well the day has finally come and we hope you will join us at our Winter Wonderland tonight from 5.30pm - 7.30pm.  It is a great way to have fun, support the school and be part of your community.  All proceeds go straight back into school to provide your children with all the extras that school budgets can no longer meet, and are greatly received. Unfortunately the weather forecast is for lots of rain so we have had to make the decision today to cancel the performances of choir and dance that were due to take place outside.  We are really sad about this, but we need to ensure everyone is safe.  Choir rehearsed yesterday and we filmed this, the video will be shared on tapestry next week.

Reception had a lovely time at the Smeds and the Smoos at Warwick Arts Centre.  The children represented the school really well and should be very proud of themselves.  I was lucky enough to join them and had a wonderful time watching them soak in the live performance with lots of giggles and gasps of delight.

Christmas performances
I can barely believe that we are already at the time of year for our Christmas performances.  Please remember that whilst you do not need a ticket for this event, there is only room for 2 adults to attend per child.  We respectfully ask that younger siblings (including babies) are not brought to the performances as they can be very distracting for the children who have rehearsed so hard for their big moment.

All performances in school start at 9.15am and will finish by 10am at the latest.

Year 2 Carol's at Christmas starts at 10am at St Mary Magdalene's Church and we ask that parents meet us there - you can arrive from 9.45am and find a seat in the church - you will be directed to where you can sit.  Again, only 2 parents per child please as space in the church is limited.

As is the tradition we will be collecting for St Mary Magdalene's Church and school so any spare change is much appreciated. The school donations go directly to each class to help class teachers buy resources for the children. The church use the donations to provide services to the local community.

Rock Steady Concert
Parents of children currently learning to play with Rock Steady are invited to a concert on Tuesday 10th Dec at 2.30pm  - you should have received direct communication from Rock Steady about this. Please come to the main school entrance at 2.20pm to be seated in plenty of time.

End of term Christmas Party
We will be holding a Christmas party for the children in the afternoon on Friday 20th December.  The children can come to school dressed ready in their party clothes but need to still wear their normal school shoes and coat. They will play games and have fun in their classrooms.  We may even have a visit from the big man himself.

Have a good weekend - only 18 shopping days to go!
