Friday 25th October weekly update

25th October 2024

Head's message

What an action packed half term this has been.  All the children have settled into their new year groups well, hopefully our recent learning reviews provided you with an insight into how your child is progressing with us.  Please remember you can always request an update from your child's class teacher if you are concerned about anything or need advice on supporting your child at home.

Hot choc and bake sale today
Our amazing PTA will be selling hot chocolate, cakes and goody bags from 3pm onwards today on the school playground. All support makes such a difference so please pop along if you can.

Half term safety
This half term break brings Halloween and bonfire night celebrations if you choose to do so.  Please ensure that you are vigilant in keeping your children safe during these events, the information emailed to you and the highlighted links provide suggestions on how to do this.

Calendar
All our events for next half term (and beyond ) are available on our school calendar.  But below are some highlights for the first two weeks.

Diwali celebrations
When we return from the half term break we will be celebrating Diwali across each year group.  We are inviting all children to come to school on Friday 8th November in either traditional Diwali dress or bright coloured clothes (not football tops please).  Children should still wear their normal school shoes.  Please see the flyer that was emailed to you.

Celebration of learning
You are invited into school on Friday 8th November from 3pm onwards to look at your child's learning.  Do you not have to book a slot, just pop in from 3pm to 3.20pm.

Remembrance Day Celebrations
During the first week back after half term, poppies will be available for children to buy.  Any donation amount is accepted and all funds collected are sent straight to the Poppy Appeal.   Year 2 will be leading an assembly (this is a non parent event - sorry) on Monday 11th November to help the children understand this important day.

Children in Need day
On Friday 15th November we will support Children in Need Day.  Further information on this will be sent out after half term.

Thank you for all your support and smiles throughout my first half term as head.  It has been a wonderful half term and the Telford team are all looking forward to a break before gearing up for all our exciting Autumn 2 learning and activities. This includes our Winter Wonderland on 6th December  - details sent in your email.

Have a wonderful half term break, stay safe - term starts again on Monday 4th November and we look forward to seeing you then.
