Friday 27th September weekly update
27th September 2024
Head’s message
What a week of weather! Let's hope the rain eases off and we get a gentler introduction into Autumn.
Thank you for respecting the no parking/stopping stopping areas outside school on Kelvin Road - it is tempting to 'quickly park for a moment' when the weather is bad, but this does cause traffic congestion and poses a risk to our young children as they enter and leave the school site. Please help us to keep everyone safe.
As part of our OPAL (outdoor play and learning) we aim to get the children outside at break and lunchtimes if the rain is light. To help with this please ensure your child always has a waterproof coat in school. We are now requesting all children in year 1 and 2 have a pair of wellies in school too so they can use the field if it is wet. Please send in named wellies in a plastic bag that can be hung on your child's peg (we are looking for a permanent storage solution for this). Reception parents - your children should already have wellies in school. If you have any spare wellies you are willing to donate this would be very helpful too.
Our wonderful teaching assistants
Today we have celebrated National TA day with a special assembly for our teaching assistants, followed by breakfast treats and class made cards to say thank you for the care, support and dedication they show the children each and every day.
Cauliflower cards
Yes Christmas is coming quickly - only 13 Saturday shopping days to go! Please have a look at the beautiful artwork your child has produced that can be made into cards, wrapping paper, mugs and many other items. The letter you received details what you need to do - orders in by 4th October please to ensure Christmas delivery.
PTA meeting
The PTA held their AGM this week which was well attended. We have lots of exciting events lined up for this year that not only raise much needed funds for school, but bring joy to the children and create friendships within our school community. Please take a look at our PTA pages for more information.
Loving Learning
