Friday 22nd November weekly update

22nd November 2024

Head's message

This week we have been turning our attention to Christmas preparations, so the snow on Tuesday was very timely.  The children have started learning their lines and songs for their performances  - please remember dates for performances are available on our calendar - 2 spaces per family, no younger siblings (thank you).

Fund raising
Last week we celebrated Children in Need day and together we raised £322 which will go towards this great cause - on behalf on Children in Need thank you for your support.
We have sent money raised selling Poppies, to the Royal Legion, and will let you know the total amount raised as soon as they inform us. Again, thankyou for supporting this.

Learning to Learn event
Thank you for attending our recent Learning to Learn evening.    Information shared at this meeting can be assessed by clicking on the year group link below;

Grandparents Glitter Event
Over half the spaces have now been taken for this event, but there is room for every child to invite 2 grandparents to one session. Please sign up for this via eschools by Wednesday 27th November to secure a place.

Waste education
Today the Warwickshire Waste programme are coming into school to lead an assembly around recycling. This is the first of three assemblies that will take place throughout the school year. Year 2 will also take part in a composting workshop in the summer term.

Year 3 places
If your child is in year 2 please remember that you have to apply for their year 3 place either at the Juniors or another school of your choice.  Here is the link if you have not already done so.

Drop off zone
Please see the flyer that was sent in your email about the new drop off zone.  Lots of parents pop to school throughout the day to drop off forgotten items and there is not always a member of the office team available to answer the door.  Unless you need to speak to a member of the office team please leave your item on the drop off table and label it with your child's name and class (pens and labels are provided) and we will make sure this gets to them.

PTA
Check out the new PTA notice board on the fence next to the drive way.  Lots of information will be put here as additional reminders about the amazing events PTA are holding.  Attached to your emails is the opportunity to get your real Christmas tree from Frog Trees who then donate £7 per tree purchased back to the school.

Illegal parking
We have spoken at length with the local police about the parking situation and they have advised that if illegal parking is seen it can be reported by parents using this link.
We would appreciate it if parents can do this, rather than reporting it to the school office, as it will strengthen our case to get more support around this issue.

Have a lovely weekend.
