Friday 4th October weekly update
4th October 2024
Head’s message
It is official - we have some very talented poets in our school! Classes have been buzzing with rhyme and wonderful descriptive writing, to celebrate National Poetry day. Spoz the poet came to visit school today and spent time with all 3 year groups, writing songs and poetry together. Please visit our Loving Learning page to find out what they got up to.
Flu nasal spray
Please remember if there is no formal consent via the NHS platform for your child to have the nasal spray they cannot receive this (the platform to provide consent is now closed). The nurses and school staff do their best to encourage reluctant children but if on the day they become too distressed to have the spray (this is rare) we will not force them, and will let you know it was unable to take place.
Wellies and coats
Thank you to the many parents who have provided waterproof coats and wellies so the children can continue enjoying their morning and lunchtime breaks in our lovely British weather. It is also really helpful it you can keep practising doing up zips at home so that the children can be as independent as possible when getting ready for break and lunchtimes.
Cauliflower cards
Orders are due today please to ensure Christmas delivery of cards and wrapping paper etc. Payment and orders made online with Cauliflower Cards and art work returned to school so we can send them off.
PTA meeting
Minutes from the AGM and PTA meeting have been sent in your email, along with two really quick and simple ways you can support school to raise more funds for the children with minimal effort. The PTA also have a number of exciting events coming up. Every penny raised really does make a difference to what we can provide for your children. Please take a look at our PTA pages for more information.
Smiles
If you are paying for Smiles using the government tax-free childcare system please double check you are clicking on Telford Infant School and not Telford PreSchool as a number of payments have gone to them instead. This takes precious admin time to correct. We still have places available for our breakfast and after school provision please complete the google form if you require a place.
